Our design solution provides a visual metaphor that represents two perspectives converging into an unbiased, balanced point of clarity - the SBS Mercator.

RESEARCH + STRATEGY

Lens Theory

The ‘Lens’ is the core design motif that was born out of the SBS core values; - Balance, Clarity, and Insight. Featuring two
overlapping discs that converge in the center to form the SBS Mercator symbol.
The Lens is a flexible, adaptive element - it can act as a graphical element, but can be used to reveal windows into other stories,
or parts of the world.

The Lens provides a visual metaphor that represents two perspectives converging into an unbiased,
balanced point of clarity - the SBS Mercator.

Design Development

With the Lens as the foundation of our design language, we have developed a brand identity system that offers the
SBS World News greater adaptability than the current brand allows.
